Boise River Side Channel Fall Maintenance

Time for annual Fall Maintenance in our Boise river side channel.  We will be bundling small woody debris to provide cover for trout fry over the winter and securing a small tree that has fallen in the lower section of the side channel. 

We will be clearing the entry to the side channel of debris to improve inflows to encourage brown trout spawning.    There is a large log that washed into the side channel that we will move to the entry to provide a crossing-log for people to help prevent them from moving boulders into the entry and blocking off inflows.

WHERE: Park at 8940 W. Duck Lake Dr. Walk to river. See map below

BRING: Work Waders & Work Gloves. If you have them, bring a Pry Bar or a Come-along
