BT’s Fly Tying Friday: Designing Flies

This Friday, we will tie two little-known flies that effectively demonstrate two principles: 1) adding motion to a pattern, and 2) designing a fly using available materials. Gretchen will demonstrate the first fly, the LaFontaine B. H. Marabou Worm, which has incredible motion in the water. Al will demonstrate a Muddle May, that he first designed in 1985 due to supply chain issues in his tying business. The WEEKLY TIP will expand on “possible options” for adding motion to the fly Gretchen presents earlier in the evening, based on the available materials.
