Registration is closed

The final element of the Owyhee Redds Sign Project is to attach the signs on posts that have already been installed by ODFW.  The signs are part of a campaign to mitigate the decline of brown trout in the lower Owyhee River.  We are looking for volunteers to help with this installation.

Volunteers needed to attach signs to posts:

  • Contact Troy Pearse if you are able to help.
    • ttpearse@gmail.com or 208.870.1025
  • Meet at the Old Clouse Ranch
    • About 1/3 mile below the Concrete Bridge
    • “1800 Owyhee Lake Road”
    • 43.7031691948 °, -117.193163092°

Navigation:

  • Navigate to “1800 Owyhee Lake Road”. There are many routes to the Owyhee, in general you are navigating to Adrian Oregon and then following signs to “Lake Owyhee”.

Here is one way to go:

  • From Boise, plan 1.5 hours plus time for wrong turns if you haven’t driven to the Owyhee before
  • Take I84 West past Caldwell and take Hwy 26 exit towards Notus/Parma
  • In 12.5 miles exit onto Hwy 95 and follow the signs to Roswell, or you can continue to Parma and cut across Hwy18 to Roswell (easier, as it has fewer turns)
  • Follow Roswell road to the Snake River, cross and turn right, drive 5 miles thru Adrian
  • Turn left on Overstreet at the sign to Lake Owyhee
  • Overstreet will take you to Owhyee Lake Road.  Turn left and drive 5 ½ miles to the Clouse Ranch
