Damsel & Caddis Dries
John Kreft from Sisters, Oregon will present a couple of his favorite damsel and caddis dry flies. He is a master Zoom presenter, custom fly tier, fly fisher, who operates a weekly blog, RiverKeeper Flies and YouTube channel in his spare time. In the WEEKLY TIP, we’ll continue our search for the “perfect dry fly footprint.” Who knows what our fertile minds will dream up! - Hook: Standard dry fly hook #10 – 12
- Thread: Blue or tan 6/0
- Body: Braided monofilament or 2mm foam
- Thorax: Blue or tan dubbing
- Wingcase: Blue or tan 2mm foam
- Thorax: Blue or tan dubbing
- Wingcase: Blue or tan 2mm foam
- Hackle: Grizzly, blue dun, or Coq de Leon
- Eyes: Mono or blue– plastic - optional
Morish October Caddis
- Hook: Daiichi 1180 or TMC 100, size 8
- Thread: Danville 6/0, coffee
- Body: Orange 2mm foam
- Rib: Thread
- Wing: Stacked elk or deer hair
- Nose: Tan 2mm foam
- Hackle: Brown or medium ginger
